Optimal price/performance ratio for Ecolite's new website

A homepage has a lifespan of approximately five years. Then a design order must be drawn up to decide whether the website is still up-to-date, whether a design refresh or at most a complete redesign is necessary. The crucial questions in this process are:
Does the visual look still fit the graphic perception of the target group, or has the visual perception in the society changed significantly?
Are the content and structure of the website still up-to-date, or do minor or major adjustments need to be made in this regard?
Do the customer's needs and/or the possibilities offered by the internet result in meaningful new functionalities?
In 2020, we were allowed to design the homepage for Ecolite AG, which looked like this:
Since then, the company's management has been expanded, the available products have been more clearly divided into systems, and the Download Center – a digital hub for architects and facade builders– has been expanded. These changes should be taken into account in the new website. In addition, the customer wanted to use new sorting functions to enable, for example, selection for facade materials and/or the Ecolite systems used in the reference projects. Since Daniel Riedener took over the Munotblick restaurant a little over ten years ago, we have been able to design the homepage for him. The original web design from 2015 was very gently revised in 2020.
Daniel Riedener and his team are passionate cooks and hosts with equal passion. This hasn't gone unnoticed by Gault & Millau, and without Daniel having sought it out, Munotblick was rated 15 points. He and his team have continuously developed the culinary arts. And that's why it was clear: Now the homepage needs a comprehensive redesign.

The new look should be fresher and more elegant, and the extensive navigation should be packed into a megamenu. Furthermore, we wanted to create a strong visual approach with moving images and place the most important navigation points at very large sizes. The result:

Cornelia is a complementary therapist specializing in structural integration. Structural integration supports people who want to realign their bodies with gravity and move freely. Cornelia's outstanding work helps identify tension patterns in the body and stimulate long-term changes. Our task was to design an attractive website, which she then completed after a training session with her husband. To demonstrate Cornelia's work on the homepage, we created short films – deliberately shot with a vintage lens to give them an organic feel.

With more complex designs, fonts, images, and spacing on a website are sometimes not displayed satisfactorily on a mobile phone. Our web CMS allows for completely separate display of screen and mobile content, including the option to display elements only on the screen or only on the mobile device. Despite this complexity, programming is relatively simple, making it attractively priced for you as a client. For Andrea Graf of Bravura Consulting, we implemented the new website exactly as described. We also worked with her to create a series of photos in our studio that precisely met her website requirements – all from a single source, which made the project management very efficient.

On screen, we can use a finer font, but for mobile devices, we need a bold font to ensure the text is easy to read. We can program this accordingly with the CMS we use.

Especially for smaller companies and NGOs, the price factor is an important decision criterion when creating a new website. With our CMS, we can offer an excellent price/performance ratio that has already convinced over 100 companies and institutions. This content management system has pre-built elements, but also offers the option of custom programming. For example, we have integrated several scrolling effects, a mega menu, and autostart videos into this website. The client was also impressed by the fact that the newsletter is sent via the same platform, eliminating the need to rely on a second provider for digital news distribution. In the medium term, the website will also be available in French.

Together with Heer Architektur, we developed the visual identity of the architectural firm's new website. Everything is kept very simple. The client wanted virtually all images to initially appear in black and white and only turn into color when the mouse hovers over them (this was a welcome addition for Heer Architektur, as a fan of black and white photography ;-)). This special feature, as well as, for example, the different logo positions for desktop and mobile, can be implemented with our web system, even though it's a modular system. The advantage for the client is an excellent price/performance ratio.

Farb AG, Department of Labor Integration, Bern Region, Bern
Farb AG wanted to bring its website closer to its existing corporate design and switch to a system that would allow for quick and easy adjustments and news updates. Marie Luise Suter's existing illustrations were to play a key role in this process. They also wanted a mega menu, with only the three main chapters and the login area displayed like a classic navigation. In addition to the overall presentation of the team , the client also wanted the option to make individual team groups accessible via a pop-up. All of this could be perfectly implemented with Squarespace. A second phase includes a small online shop, which will also be implemented using the Squarespace system. Only in the secure login area were there some special requirements that couldn't be met with our system. We implemented this separate section together with a partner company using a more complex CMS.
This is how the customer achieved the famous "five and a half": The homepage was created with Squarespace, one of the most modern and, in our opinion, user-friendly CMS, and only the few pages in the login area with special requirements were implemented in a more complex system.
