The lecture
The adventure of photography, and therefore also the adventure of life, is the focus of this lecture. An image is realized in a fraction of a second. But entirely in keeping with Hannes Schmid's quote, it's not the image itself that's the art, but the thoughts – and often the story behind them. After all, what happens in the hours, days, and months before and after the fraction of a second in which the image is captured on the sensor or on celluloid? In this lecture you will learn stories about 12 pictures from the collection of Peter Schäublin. These are images that get under your skin, whose stories are sometimes humorous and sometimes thought-provoking. And of course, in addition to the 12 pictures, you will see further photos and films in this presentation that illustrate the stories.
The speaker
Peter Schäublin, who has been using a camera for over 50 years and has run his own company in the field of visual communication for over 30 years. Peter Schäublin photographs professionally and privately, although the boundaries are often fluid. His adventurous spirit and commitment to NGOs have led him to almost every continent.
Duration and format
«The Story behind» contains photos and films from the repertoire of Peter Schäublin. The duration can be adjusted to your requirements – 30 to 60 minutes.
