Roots to Fly

A film about the indigenous artist Trevor Angus and an insight into the fascinating world of the Pacific Northwest coast.

We followed the indigenous artist Trevor Angus and his wife Yvonne with the camera for three weeks. This resulted in a film: Roots to Fly (Roots to Fly):

The presentation

In the first part, we will take you to the Pacific Northwest coast and give you an insight into the wildlife of this fascinating coastal landscape, and tell you how we came to be/are in this area in the first place. Then comes the fable of the sea lion who lost the sea, and in the third part you will see the 35-minute film «Roots to Fly».

The producers

Peter and Ursula Schäublin compiled the presentation and the film.
Peter has been using a camera for over 50 years, and for over 30 years he has run his own company in the field of visual communication. He films and photographs professionally and privately, with boundaries often fluid. His adventurous spirit and commitment to NGOs have led him to almost every continent.
Ursula is a high school teacher and has a degree in applied psychology. People and cultures have always interested her. She lived in Morocco for seven years. Her knowledge of different cultures has helped her a lot in the many interviews she conducted for «Roots to Fly».

Duration and format

«Roots to Fly» consists of three parts – the intro, the fable and the film. Depending on how much time is available, we can only show the film, present two of the three parts, or all three parts. The duration can thus be adjusted to a time window between 40 and 60 minutes.

Currently planned public dates

Saturday, November 28, 2026: Premiere
at the Sternen cultural center in Thayngen near Schaffhausen (CH). Two screenings, one at 4 pm and one at 7 pm. Entry is free, However, due to the limited number of seats, we request registration.
